JOIN ME FOR CURIOUS HAUNTS
Making a show, an evening with Ande Parks, and a bit of the strange and unusual.
Okay…I started hinting about a new thing that I’ve been working on a few months ago.
I was about as subtle as I can be about it.
I shared a few pics, talked about my little end of year cross country excursion, and really REALLY tried not to spill ALL the beans.
But now— the wait is over.
Since you follow this newsletter and are pretty likely a fan of my work, you know that I’m…a bit of a fan of the strange and unusual.
Horror has been a big part of my world forever now.
While I like all genres, it’s the one I return to time and time again.
And because of that…
CURIOUS HAUNTS
For a while now, I’ve been thinking about a companion piece to this newsletter.
Something connected…but also doing some things that I just can’t do here.
A little more long form.
A little more visual.
Something that bridges my love of horror, old places, food and drink, travel, and just…exploring.
After talking with some friends, I realized the thing the world really needed was…another podcast.
Okay…that part isn’t really true.
I’m not sure that we NEED another podcast.
But what I HOPE you, my tried and true friends and fans, would appreciate, is a deeper dive into more of the things that make me…me.
Take a look at this little teaser—
My new video podcast CURIOUS HAUNTS officially drops next Tuesday, 2.25.25.
I’m going to be sharing this trailer this week at ComicsPro in LA, but…I wanted to share it with you all first.
I’m really proud of this little project.
Let me know what you think of the trailer!
I’d love to hear it.
THE INIMITABLE MR PARKS
There’s nobody like Ande Parks.
I’ve known Ande for over twenty five years.
He, along with his frequent collaborator and accomplice, Phil Hester, were some of the earliest supporters of my work in comics.
Ande and I like to hang out.
He’s got this thing about him…he knows where to get a good drink, enjoys a great meal, and just tells the best stories.
Ande is also an expert on the 1933 Union Station Kansas City Massacre.
So much so that he wrote the 2003 graphic novel about it, with the amazingly talented artist Eduardo Barreto.
Since I’ve been working on CUROUS HAUNTS, and am working on a segment examining the strange and unusual of Kansas City, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to have Ande take me through Union Station and retell the story of the massacre.
It was an amazing trip and I’m grateful to Ande for making time to hang out, share stories, and enjoy a damned fine cocktail or two.
Can’t wait to do it again soon.

LIKE/FOLLOW/SUBSCRIBE
You can’t see the face I’m making as I type out the words LIKE/FOLLOW/SUBSCRIBE, but I assure you it’s just a LITTLE grumpy.
But…at the same time, this is how we do it, I suppose.
I’m new to the YouTube game.
Fashionably late to the party, if you will.
But here we are—
Pull up a chair. Let me pour you a drink.
And yes, if you will…

And that’s it for this one, folks.
I’m excited about all this.
And nervous.
Definitely exhausted.
But I’m having an absolute blast making things.
I’m honored to be able to do it.
Can’t wait to show you more very very soon.
Until next time, my friends—
Cheers!
